Peggy’s Porch Party with Natalie Price

Friday, May 14, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Natalie Price

Peggy’s Porch Party, a newly formed Texas 501c3 nonprofit, is hosting its second “Fireside Series” concert featuring Austin’s own Natalie Price!  Described once by a Texas Music Magazine writer as “one of the Austin singer-songwriter scene’s most dynamic new talents”, the young artist’s ethereal, one-of-a-kind sound refuses to fall neatly into one category. Just as comfortable dabbling in Americana or folk as she is indie-pop, Natalie Price’s music is perhaps best encapsulated by its deep-seated humanity. You won’t want to miss this unique show where we will learn so much about what has inspired this talented singer-songwriter.

We are going to have a blast – of course, at a social distance! There is a limited number of tickets available and you must have a ticket to attend. Once you purchase a ticket, we will send you an email with all COVID-19 guidelines for this event. Your safety and the safety of our musicians are very important to us. What to Bring: chair or blanket, snacks, beverage of choice and money for merchandise. Weather permitting. We will refund the ticket price if the show is cancelled.

Austin music veterans Kelly Doze and Les Fisher bring you their newest Funk/R&B project, Bakbonz. The party band plays soulful, upbeat originals and forgotten retro classics that bring down the house.

Kelly Dose

Kelly Doze is an established singer-songwriter in Austin, TX who has become known for her powerhouse vocals with unbelievable range. Her ambition and passion for music drives her to share her gift through teaching others to sing and play as well.

As a songwriter Kelly has proven herself as one of the best and most diverse lyricist with a distinctive ability to transcend the song to the story she so deeply and passionately performs. Kelly began planting her musical roots after she teamed up with Austin icon, Malford Milligan, to produce her first self-titled album where she quickly became known as a Blues/R&B/Soul/Pop artist. Her second album, Define Me, co-produced by drummer, John Moore, is a compilation of her earlier work and showcases her versatile vocal style.

Kelly’s vocal prowess has opened up opportunities in the Austin music scene for her to work on multiple projects with artists such as Ray Prim, Zeale, Ter’rell Shahid, James Kinney, D.O.S., and Suele.

Most recently Kelly has partnered up with renowned drummer and bass player, Les Fisher whose funk style blends effortlessly with Kelly’s R&B bravura. Their first album, Worth the Wait, is to be released in early 2018 and was co- produced by Les, Kelly and Omar Vallejo of 512 Studios. Be on the lookout for Kelly’s hot new album as it is definitely worth the wait!

Les Fisher

The rock steady bass of Les Fisher is second nature to a man who is a second-generation star of the skins. He grew up in Grand Rapids, MI listening to his drummer dad. Les’s crisp vocals and songwriting talent got a jump-start from his mother, an accomplished jazz singer. If you close your eyes, it’s hard to believe that the soulful and smooth voice that you are hearing is coming from the same man that you see laying down the groove. Les is known for the energy and confidence he exudes and his laid back attitude has a way of putting other musicians at ease.

Most recently Les has performed with Micki Free (formerly with Shalamar), Don Was and Was Not Was, Mindi Abair and the Boneshakers, Jason Mraz, Brothers Johnson and George Lopez. Also, Les’s notorious backbeat in Austin, TX has given him the opportunity to play with musicians such as Gary Clark Jr., Tom Cochran, Bob Schneider, Vallejo, MC Overlord and Gospel singers Mary Mary. Les has been sought after for national tours by Sophie B. Hawkins, El Debarge, legendary saxophonist Ronnie Laws and George Clinton Parliament Funkadelik. Les’s previous band, The Funk Mob, also backed up the legendary Patty LaBelle, Az Yet, and The Temptation’s lead singer, Larry Braggs.

Brodie Lane

It can easily be said that BRODIE LANE is a direct product of the 2020 pandemic, as venues, tours & the world halted to a complete stop, eviscerating live music & artists’ existence. Formed by Austin, TX veteran songwriter/vocalist/guitarist AJ Vallejo, the band naturally came together by default with the city mostly in shutdown from jam sessions to pass the slowed time with long-time drinking buddies & neighbors, Bruce Castleberry (guitar), Alex Geismar (drums), & Joe Fladger (bass). Contagious-as-covid tracks like their provocative debut single “Gonna Go” & quarantine-love-anthem, “Stuck With You” are clear indicators that Brodie Lane is the road we all want to be on when the world opens back up again. http://www.brodielane.net

Lisa’s Bio:

Singer-songwriter Lisa Morales draws from a creative palette informed by the rhythms, colors and flavors of the Southwest — from the painted-desert skies of her native Tucson, Arizona, where she and cousin Linda Ronstadt grew up, to the sea-salted air of Houston, where she moved at 18, and the history and music filled cities of San Antonio and Austin where she splits time living.

Lisa toured most of 2018-2019 with Los Lonely Boys, Los Lobos, and Rodney Crowell, she continues to record and release music sung in English, Spanish and Spanglish, conveying the promise of new beginnings and confirming that she is a woman in touch with her emotions and inner power.
